In this article, I will describe the Updated Usage Reports Feature on your Telnyx customer portal and what you can do there.

Step by Step Guide to Usage Reports

The Reporting > Usage Reports section can be found here. Once on this page, you will need to enable the Experimental Version Toggle switch to view the updated Usage Report Interface.

Here you can tweak the various filters and variables available for detail requests

Product: This option defines the Telnyx product you are running the report for, your options are:

  • Sip-Trunking

  • Messaging

  • Voice API

  • Wireless

  • Cloud Storage

  • Inference

  • Verify 2fa

  • Fax API

  • WebRTC

  • Calls per Second

  • Conference

  • Video API

  • Call Control Features

  • Customer Service Record

  • Media Streaming

  • Noise Suppression

  • Text to Speech

  • Speech to Text

  • Recording

  • Forking

  • Media Storage

  • Answering Machine Detection

The kind of information returned and reporting options will be different based on the report type. At this time, there is not a way to view usage for all or multiple products at once.

Timespan: These three options will be used to define the time range you would like your report to cover.

  • "Today" will generate your usage report for that specific product for the last 24 hours

  • "Month" will allow you to generate a usage report for the month selected in the drop-down menu.

  • "Custom" will allow you to specify a time range with a start month, day, and time, and an end month, date, and time, provided the time range does not exceed 31 days

Advanced Filters: The Advanced Filters option allows you to select multiple filters to customize your generated usage report table. The available filter options will change depending on the product type selected. Note that the downloaded CSV file will only show the column headers of the selected filter options.

Accessing Usage Report Data via API Endpoints

To streamline integration and monitoring, developers can directly access usage report metrics through API calls, allowing for automated tracking and reporting.
