US Short Code Ordering Process
Short Code Order Types
New Random or Vanity Short Code
Migration of existing Random or Vanity Short Code from another provider.
The ordering process between the two is quite similar, more details below.
Ordering a New Random or Vanity Short Code
To order a new Random or Vanity Short code you need to fill out two forms:
1. Short Code Order Brief, which is for the carriers.
2. Brand Registration Form, which is for the Short Code Registry.
3. Content Provider Registration Form, which is for the Short Code Registry. (Can be the same entity as the Brand)
There is a lot of overlap between the forms so filling them out at the same time is beneficial.
If you do not know a brand is the perceived sender of the messages (like Nike sending text messages about shoes) and the content provider is the entity which develops and types the content into the application to send (like a marketing agency hired by Nike). They can be the same entity.
To request a current Short Code Order Brief, Brand, or Content Provider Registration Form please message us at Shortcode@telnyx.com.
As part of the brand registration process the brand and content provider contact will have to complete a verification email that will come from certify@aegismobile.com and a third party vetting will be completed.
At the time the brief is approved and brand registered it will take about 6 weeks to get final approval from the carriers, do provisioning and testing. This can vary based on volume and season.
Migrating an existing Random or Vanity Short Code
To migrate an existing Short Code you will need to:
Fill out the Short Code Order Brief
Fill out the Brand and Content Provider Registration Form
Provide a Migration Letter
Provide an LOA
Provide a Short Code Registry Receipt for the Short Code
Once the the documents are approved and accepted it will take about 6 weeks to get final carrier approval, do testing and provisioning.
