DID Number Requirements for Japan
In order to purchase an Japan number you will need to provide the following:
National Numbers in Japan
For personal identity verification:
* Name, last name
* Contact phone number
* Certificate of the person in charge (1 of the following)
Local driver's license with both sides of driving history certificate
My Number Card (front only)
Japanese Passport
Health insurance cards (redacted basic pension number and insurance number)
National Pension Handbook
Maternal and Child Health Handbook
Seal Registration Certificate
Basic Resident Registration Card
Residence card (dated within 3 months)
a. Special Permanent Resident CertificateCertificate of Residence (redacted personal number)
For business identity verification:
* Name, last name of an authorized representative
* Contact phone number
* Company name
* Certificate of contractor (1 or 2)
Company registered matters
Certificate of company seal registration (dated within 3 months)
* Certificate of authority of the person in charge (supplemental - see details below)
Power of Attorney (must include name and seal of the representative of the corporation)
For address verification:
* Address in Japan (street, building number, postal code, city and country)
* Proof of Address (A or B - see details below)
If the address of the Certificate of contractor is different from the current address or place of use, or
the address of the Certificate of the person in charge is different from the current address, or, if the current address is not listed, the following supplemental documents must be submitted.
Supplementary Documents for A
Receipts of national and local taxes (stamped and dated within 3 months)
Certificate of Tax Payment (stamped and dated within 3 months)
Receipts of social insurance premiums (stamped and dated within 3 months)
Certificate of receipt of utility bills (electricity, city gas, water, and landline phone invoices acceptable)
Supplementary Documents for B
Receipt of utility bills (electricity, city gas, water, and landline phone invoices acceptable)
Certificate of Tax Payment (stamped and dated within 3 months)
Receipt of social insurance (stamped and dated within 3 months)
Additional Information:
* Certificates with an expiration date must be within the expiration date, and certificates without an expiration date must be within 3 months of the date of issue.
* Power of Attorney is not required if the address and name of the person in charge of the application match the registered name of the representative by the documents in the Company registered matters.
