We offer three registration types on a connection that can be used to register your switch to our switch. This is done at the SIP Connection level (i.e. SIP Connections section of your portal account), and only one registration type can be used per connection. The three registration types we offer are the following:

  • Credentials (User Authentication)
  • IP Address
  • FQDN

Call Control: Call Control Applications are what you can use to set up your Call Control configurations. You can view and configure Call Control Applications here. Check out this guide for more information.

Deciding on what registration type to use depends on your use case. As a rule of thumb, a Credential-based connection is used if you know that your external IP address may change (dynamic IP address). Use an IP-based connection if IP address will not change (static IP address).
